TV and Radio Programs
Activity Dates
2004-2007
Activity Summary
HCP expanded the reach and scope of the ARH program through mass and local media networks, launching the first ever youth variety show on a major network (BTV) that involved adolescents from design through production and broadcast.
HCP produced TV and radio programs for the general public in two phases. In the first phase, 13 TV programs and 39 Radio programs were produced and broadcast from the National TV and Radio channels. The main purpose of the first phase of programs was to provide adolescents with accurate and sensitive information on various issues relating to their maturity and their reproductive health directly or indirectly. A quick assessment study was conducted to gain audience reaction on the program format, issues and presentation style.
In between the two variety shows (13 episodes each), HCP aired two campaigns. The first, entitled “Express 2005,” focused on HIV awareness and the need to talk about the issues. The objective of the first campaign was to get people talking about HIV/AIDS, asking questions and getting the answers they need to protect themselves and stay safe.
The second campaign, “Nijeke Jano Shoffalo Ano” (Know Yourself, Bring Success), which was also the central ARH branding campaign, aired at exactly the same time as the second wave variety show (2007).
